Polyurethane (PU) bushings are currently the most durable type of rubber bushing. Their material properties make them far superior to traditional rubber and hydraulic bushings in terms of aging resistance, deformation resistance, and corrosion resistance.
Superior Durability: Polyurethane is a polymer material between rubber and plastic, possessing extremely high wear resistance and mechanical strength. Compared to ordinary rubber, it is less prone to permanent deformation or cracking under long-term stress, maintaining stable performance even under harsh working conditions.
Strong Resistance to Environmental Corrosion: PU bushings are highly resistant to oil, moisture, ozone, and chemicals, and will not age, harden, or crack like rubber due to contact with grease or prolonged exposure to sunlight.
Lifespan Far Exceeds Traditional Bushings: Ordinary rubber bushings have a normal lifespan of approximately 6 years or 60,000-100,000 kilometers, while high-quality polyurethane bushings can achieve lifetime maintenance under reasonable usage conditions. Some brands, such as Powerflex, even offer a lifetime warranty.
High load-bearing capacity and low deformation: Polyurethane has higher hardness (such as 95A Shore hardness), which can withstand greater dynamic loads, effectively suppressing excessive swaying of the suspension system and ensuring that the vehicle maintains precise geometric positioning even during aggressive driving.
