The main materials for rubber end gaskets include nitrile rubber, silicone rubber, fluororubber, EPDM rubber, and natural rubber, each corresponding to different operating conditions.
1. Nitrile Rubber (NBR)
Characteristics: Excellent oil resistance, wear resistance, pressure resistance, and good airtightness; it is one of the most commonly used materials in oily media environments.
Applications: Automotive engine compartments, hydraulic systems, lubricating oil pipelines, and other applications containing mineral oil or fuel oil.
Operating Temperature: -20℃~110℃.
Caution: Not resistant to strong acids, strong oxidants, and polar solvents (such as ketones and esters).
2. Silicone Rubber (WMQ)
Characteristics: Outstanding high and low temperature resistance, non-toxic and odorless, physiologically inert, and meets food-grade and medical-grade standards.
Applications: Food processing equipment, medical devices, electronic and electrical insulation sealing, and other fields with high safety requirements. Operating temperature: -100℃~300℃, some models can reach 350℃.
Caution: Lower mechanical strength, not suitable for high-pressure or high-abrasion environments.
3. Fluororubber (FKM)
Characteristics: Resistant to high temperatures, strong acids, strong alkalis, organic solvents, and oxidizing media; extremely high chemical stability.
Applications: Chemical reactors, aerospace seals, high-temperature corrosive fluid transport systems.
Operating temperature: -20℃~200℃, can withstand higher temperatures for short periods.
Caution: Higher cost, typically used in extreme conditions.
